The PolarStar Hop-Up Thing is a precision-machined hop-up chamber designed for M4 / AR15 platform Airsoft Electric Guns and HPA builds. Manufactured in-house by PolarStar from CNC-machined 6061 aluminum, the unit focuses on improving consistency, alignment, and air seal stability across high-performance builds. Its combined rotary and TDC adjustment system allows precise hop tuning while maintaining stable vertical pressure on the bucking. Designed for TM-spec V2 M4 platforms, the Hop-Up Thing prioritizes repeatable tuning and reliable fitment for both AEG and HPA setups.

Hybrid TDC / Rotary Adjustment System: The Hop-Up Thing combines a rotary adjustment dial with a Top Dead Center (TDC) pressure arm. This system applies vertical pressure directly downward onto the nub and bucking, helping maintain consistent backspin while reducing lateral shift that can occur in traditional slider-style designs.

Precision CNC Machining: The chamber body is machined from 6061 aluminum to tight tolerances. This construction helps maintain consistent alignment between the gearbox nozzle, bucking, and inner barrel, which supports more stable air seal performance and repeatable shot behavior.

Vertical Nub Pressure Design: The TDC arm applies controlled downward pressure directly over the contact patch. This helps ensure uniform BB backspin, contributing to stable flight paths and predictable trajectory when properly adjusted.

Modular Fitment Design: The chamber uses a replaceable gearbox lip system designed to support proper nozzle alignment within the hop-up interface. PolarStar designed the platform with modular expansion in mind, allowing future optional accessories to further tune feeding and alignment.

Built for AEG and HPA Platforms: Designed around standard V2 M4 / M16 hop-up geometry, the unit supports both traditional AEG gearboxes and HPA engines used in the same platform. This makes it suitable for high-performance builds where consistent air seal and alignment are critical.

WHAT’S IN THE BOX?

The hop up Thing and the parts to make it work. We’ve included a 0.305” gearbox lip (standard for most AEGs), a 3x4mm round nub, and even an ARO (Axel Retaining O-ring) Tool because we know installing those tiny 1x1mm O-rings is a pain in the ass without the right gear. We also threw in 5 shimming O-rings and a molded barrel clip to keep everything tight.
